Fort Bend Parkway Extension, Phase 1, Section 2, Harris and Fort Bend Counties. Directed extensive materials testing program for this 4,800 linear feet toll way. Services included testing of cut and fill earthwork, stabilization inspection and testing of asphalt and concrete pavements. Precast concrete fabrication inspection for a four-span bridge was also provided. The total materials testing cost was under budget.
New North Runway 8L-26R & Parallel Taxiway, Houston, Texas. Directed materials testing program as indicated in the above project. Based on performance for the New Cargo Infrastructure assignment listed above, Paradigm was immediately awarded a second project which required the continued use of the on-site facility and manpower. The management and field and lab services were similar to the New Cargo project.
Terminal C Renovations and Expansion, Houston, Texas. Supervised materials testing program for interior structural renovations, the addition of a ticketing pier with bag drop kiosks, self-service kiosks and full-service counters and major renovations of the baggage handling facilities. A 70-foot wall of windows was added to offer natural light and enhance the feeling of spaciousness in Terminal C. Included in the third and final phase of the project is the grand opening of a modern central check-in island and the reopening of the baggage claim level.
Bayport Container Yard and Wharf – Phase 1A, Houston, Texas. Directed materials testing program during construction of a new wharf, and approximately 65 acres of concrete storage yard. An on-site office/lab facility was mobilized and manned by a full-time manager with up to six full-time engineering technicians. Services provided resulted in Paradigm being named Port of Houston Small Business of the Year.
Texas Children’s Hospital Expansion Program, Houston, Texas. Performed project management duties during construction of two cast-in-place concrete structures totaling one million square feet of floor space. Concrete mat foundations included placements of 8,600 and 6,500 cubic yards of concrete. Provided extensive inspection of precast concrete fabrication process.
Southeast Water Purification Plant, Houston, Texas. Directed construction materials testing program during construction of 80 mgd surface water treatment plant on 400-acre site. Structural concrete included numerous large structures with sophisticated reinforcing steel details and high-strength concrete placements. Detention pond system included extensive levee construction.
South Shore Harbour, League City, Texas. Directed and performed construction monitoring and testing of upscale residential community development, marina, and hotel and conference center. Earthwork included large scale grade adjustment to raise residential areas above 100-year flood plain.
Compaq Computer World Headquarters, Houston, Texas. Directed construction inspection and engineering services during development of numerous office, distribution, parking, and power plant facilities. Development included numerous projects being constructed simultaneously which caused large fluctuation of daily work force requirements.
