Construction/Special Inspection

Construction inspection, much like construction testing, is intended to further ensure that the construction is executed in accordance with the project plans and specifications.  Our construction field inspectors are well-versed in specific areas of civil construction inspection.  In addition to inspecting the structural elements of building construction, construction inspectors observe the overall operations of streets, water, sewer, and drainage systems, levees, foundations, bridges and other structural steel or concrete reinforced structures.

Local building officials require Special Inspections of structures permitted under building-code requirements to verify that the constructed elements of the building comply with the approved building permit.  Special Inspection must be performed by a Special Inspector, employed by an approved agency, both having been approved by the responsible building official.  The services include inspection of structural fabricators as well as site construction of structural steel, concrete, and masonry, soils and foundations, and fireproofing.
