Yale Street Bridge

Project Description:

Paradigm performed a condition survey of the 82-year-old reinforced concrete structure.  A variety of destructive and nondestructive inspection testing methods were employed to determine the cause and extent of corrosion damage in the structure, including petrographic examination, ground penetrating radar, and compressive strength testing.  It was determined that the reinforcement corrosion and concrete spalling was due to carbonation-induced corrosion of the steel.
